Man, the sickly lighting in this photo is a sin against onions everywhere.

Swap out the sour cream for a buttermilk, then drain and toss in a spiced flour and deep fry and you’ve got some pretty decent onion rings.

It’s not the food. It’s the photography. 🤮

this would probably be really good if more stuff was added to it. black pepper , dill , chili flakes.. something

Define “soaked” like you let it sit for a little bit? Or, dare I say, over night?

Just add some pickled herring and it’ll be good to go.

Hey I’ll sometimes do the same thing with mayo, and throw it in a wrap. probably would be equally revolting to a lot here lol

You can then drain these, and bread them. I have done something very similar

Back in my drinking days, I wanted homemade onion rings. I only had berry yogurt, the one with the fruit at the bottom. So I used the yogurt, no fruit, as the wet in my breading steps and they were probably the best onion rings I’ve ever made. That tang on the onion was *chefs kiss*

  12. Throw some El Pato in there and then you can dip your nachos, your tacos, your flautas…
